Carers / Support Workers
I just need someone to help take me shopping… go out to visit friends…cook…
If you need someone to help with any day to day activities, a carer can help.
How can NDIS help:
- By paying for a carer or support worker. These can be a family member or a paid carer.
- If a family member does most of your care, they can be paid for some of their support.
NDIS recognises the support families often give and can help by giving you a break or providing training.
Can I get some cash to go out or buy things myself?
No. NDIS can not give people cash. They can pay for some programs, courses, or events if these are to help with your disability and it’s in your plan.
